nel corso di ieri ho ricevuto qualche informazione utile riguardo a come muoversi nella città di Stoccolma, ma dedicherò un intervento alla questione più tardi, quando sarò più lucido e meno stanco.
Adesso vorrei invece presentarvi una delle migliori band svedesi degli ultimi vent'anni, il gruppo alternative rock Kent.
La band si è formata a Eskilstuna nel 1990 ed è capitanata dal cantante, autore e chitarrista ritmico Joakim Berg.
I Kent sono molto popolari in Scandinavia, ma quasi sconosciuti al di fuori di quest'ultima; per questo tutti gli album del gruppo sono in svedese con due eccezioni (gli album Isola e Hagnesta hill), tentativi di sfondare nel mercato internazionale che non ottennero il successo sperato.
Perchè ho scelto questo gruppo per inaugurare la serie di posts relativi alla musica svedese?
Personalmente ciò che apprezzo maggiormente in una band sono i testi, ed amo molto anche i video promozionali, se ben fatti.
In linea di massima una canzone con un bel testo, un gran video ed una musica mediocre può benissimo entrarmi nel cuore.
Già, ironicamente per quanto riguarda la musica è la musica che mi interessa di meno. In questo senso mi basta che la voce sia espressiva ed adatta alle parole che canta, tutto il resto cade in secondo piano.
Non voglio dire che il gruppo di Berg sia tecnicamente carente o musicalmente poco interessante, ma ciò che più mi hanno colpito sono state -appunto- le liriche incredibilmente delicate ed i video, espressivi ed emozionanti.
In questa sede ve ne mostrerò due, i miei preferiti : Hjärta e Kärleken väntar ('Cuore' e 'L'amore aspetta').
Della prima canzone vi lascio anche la traduzione inglese, così che possiate farvi un'idea del messaggio che accompagna le bellissime immagini del video.
